Me!

Oh how things change and stay the same. This is me from March 08. My hair is longer and I have contacts that I sometimes wear. I like how the pattern on my shirt almost looks edible to the dinosaurs. It really makes me think of The Land Before Time.

Cavern

Ohio Cavern 20
Originally uploaded by rayechu

I am reaching a bit back in time here. This is from the Ohio Cavern in southern Ohio. I think many of the pictures came out relatively well, though I missed some due to the quick pace of the tour and my camera malfunctioning. I think it reminds me of dinosaurs.
New camera has shipped with an estimated arrival date of Wednesday!

Rainbow

This was also taken on my trip to New york in March. I forget what exactly it is. I think an Ammonite shell is what it really is, but the rainbow coloring is unique and due to where it was found (in Canada?) I really like this photo, though with colors like that it is kind of hard to mess up. I think i am ordering the new digital camera tonight. Yay!

Unicron Tapestries

I have loved the unicorn tapestries since I was a little girl watching The Last Unicorn. During spring break (March 08) I was able to actually see the tapestries in real life. Going back to New York next month I hope to be able to visit them and maybe get some better pictures.

Round and round we go

Carousel1

Another blurry picture. I had to keep the flash off because we weren't supposed to be taking pictures. The only museums I have ever gone to that had problems with cameras both had carousel displays. What the heck? I like the color and the lighting on this quite a bit though.

Also I have found the camera upgrade that I want. The Samsung L210

Capture the butterfly

This is a picture from a summer trip to the metropark in Lorain. Ben slid down the cliff to try and get a picture of a yellow butterfly.

Today was a bit of a blah day all around. I wanted to post a picture before bed to make myself feel better, figuring I would pick something cheery. However I think this picture kind of fits the mood. This is one time where I actually like the framing of the composition, and I wasn't even trying for anything. I like how the human figure is so dark calling your attention to it, but also how the figure looks so small in comparison with the rocks and water. I also think it is kind of cool how calm Ben looks after sliding down the cliff because he is completely focused on the butterfly, which is just this amazing, beautiful creature that lives for what a month? The whole thing is just a bit humbling and makes you happy to be alive.

Happy little flowers

Blurry, blurry. But I like the colors. I just took a quick picture before walking out of the house so I could enjoy my flowers. I actually got them almost a week ago and they are still alive and perky. I wish I had paid attention to what kinds of flowers they were, but I wasn't, sorry.

I am trying to look into a new camera for Christmas. Amazon reviews show the problem with my camera (freezing) is pretty typical. A friend on livejournal said to grab something with image stabilization so I will probably do that. Hopefully I will have a new camera before I go to New York in December!

Golden Afternoon
